Victoria Lewis, MD, MS, Associate at Medical Excellence Capital (MEC)
Victoria Lewis is an associate at Medical Excellence Capital (MEC). She joined MEC in 2025, bringing a strong background in biomedical research and early-stage life science investing. Prior to MEC, Victoria held roles as a consultant at Foresite Capital Management focused on early-stage investment opportunities and as a Venture Fellow at Northpond Ventures.
Victoria earned her MD from the UC San Diego School of Medicine and an MS from UC San Diego and the La Jolla Institute for Immunology (LJI). Her graduate research, conducted in the laboratory of Dr. Erica Ollmann Saphire at LJI, explored the structure and function of human endogenous retroviral proteins in cancer, employing structural biology and antibody discovery techniques. She holds a BS in Chemistry from Drexel University. Victoria is based in San Diego, California.
Immersion
Building the AI-Native Biotech Startup
Practical AI for Founders, Operators, and Scientific Teams
A special hands-on session with Sean Jungbluth, PhD, Founder and CEO/CTO of BioKEA and an Anthropic Claude Community Ambassador for Science, as he demonstrates how biotech founders and operators can integrate AI into everyday business workflows. The session will cover practical applications across fundraising, market research, strategic planning, and communications. Sean will share real-world examples and repeatable processes you can put to work immediately. Whether you are new to AI or already using tools like Claude, you will leave with concrete strategies to get more leverage from your time, capital, and team.
Speaker

Sean Jungbluth, PhD, Founder and CEO/CTO of BioKEA
Sean Jungbluth is an oceanographer, microbial ecologist, computational biologist, scientist, founder, and BioKEA lead. He earned his PhD in Biological Oceanography from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa and has spent nearly half a year at sea conducting open-ocean and deep-sea research, including three dives inside the human-occupied vehicle Alvin.Sean’s scientific work focuses on microbial and viral diversity in deep-sea, subsurface, and environmental systems, using genomics, bioinformatics, and AI-enabled data infrastructure to study life that is difficult or impossible to culture in the lab. His work has contributed to the genomic discovery and characterization of the archaeal phylum Hydrothermarchaeota, and the species Candidatus Pyrohabitans jungbluthii was named in his honor. He is Founder and CEO/CTO of BioKEA, where he is building AI and wet-lab infrastructure for environmental biology, biodiversity monitoring, and verifiable scientific knowledge systems. Sean also serves as a PI/Group Lead at the Estuary and Ocean Science Center at San Francisco State University and is an Anthropic Claude Community Ambassador.
