    Tia Lyles-Williams, D.Sc., CEO and Founder, Helaplex and Founder and Chief Innovation Officer, HiveBio

    Dr. Tia Lyles-Williams is a 3x life science start-up founder with over 20 years of commercial life science experience. She is the founder and CEO of both LucasPye BIO and HelaPlex. Most recently, she is the Founder and Chief Innovation Officer of HiveBio, a first-of-its-kind virtual accelerator program that exists to provide life science entrepreneurial support and resources to minority-owned startups. Dr. Tia is a 2021 Forbes NEXT Honoree, 2021Female Founders 100 by Inc. Magazine, and was named a “Unicorn” by Philadelphia Magazine.

     

    Dr. Lyles-Williams is recognized as the first African American Queer Woman to own and lead a biopharmaceutical manufacturing company. She is a champion of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in the workplace, STEM education, and healthcare. Her initiatives include LucasPye BIO’s C-Suite having 50% women and 85% people of color, and partnering to remove health disparities for the BIPOC community through mapping the Human Genome and developing drugs. She is also piloting BioWorks, a biotech workforce training program for Philadelphians from marginalized communities.
